TOBREX (Tobramycin) is used to treat eye infections. Tobrex is a sterile topical ophthalmic antibiotic formulation prepared specifically for topical therapy of external ophthalmic infections. Tobrex belongs to a class of drugs called aminoglycoside antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medication treats only bacterial eye infections.

DESCRIPTION
Tobrex is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that functions by stopping the growth of bacteria. The main mechanism of action is inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis. Tobramycin contained in the drug helps to kill the bacteria that cause an eye infection.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Active ingredient: Tobramycin.
Exipients: Benzalkonium chloride, boric acid, sodium sulfate anhydrous, sodium chloride, tyloxapol, purified water, and sulfuric acid or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment.
The formulation comes in the form of liquid eye drops, 0.3% concentration, 5 ml per vial.

The usual dose is 1-2 drops to the eye every 4 hours. In the case of a severe condition, use 2 drops every hour for a short period until you reduce your daily dosage. Patients taking more than one drop should wait for 5 minutes between the drops. In the case the medication is taken as a part of therapy, wait for 10 minutes or more before next use.

Don’t wear lenses when using the product as it contains Benzalkonium chloride preservative which may cause lense change the color of.

STORAGE
Store in temperature range of 8-30 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
