Tobradex Eye Drops is a sterile, multiple-dose ophthalmic suspension containing two active ingredients: tobramycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, and dexamethasone, a corticosteroid. This combination is used to treat inflammatory eye conditions where there is a risk of bacterial infection.

DESCRIPTION
Tobradex contains a combination of tobramycin and dexamethasone:
Tobramycin is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria, helping to treat bacterial infections in the eye, such as conjunctivitis (pink eye) or blepharitis.
Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness, and swelling in the eye, which is helpful for conditions like uveitis or post-surgical inflammation.
 
 
PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Tobradex Eye Drops come in a 5ml vial.
Active ingredients: Tobramycin 0.3% and Dexamethasone 0.1%.
Preservative: Benzalkonium chloride 0.01%.
Inactive ingredients: Edetate disodium, hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, tyloxapol, and purified water
 
The usual dosage for adults:
1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4 to 6 hours.
During the first 24 to 48 hours, dosage may be increased to 1 or 2 drops every 2 hours.
In severe cases, 1 or 2 drops may be instilled hourly until improvement is seen.
Treatment should continue for 14 days, not exceeding a maximum of 24 days.

  • Blurred vision.
  • Sensitivity to light.
  • Redness or swelling of the eyelid.
  • Tobradex eye drops should not be used for viral or fungal eye infections.
  • Prolonged use of steroids can lead to eye problems like glaucoma or cataracts.

STORAGE
Store in dry place at room temperature. Do not exceed storage temperature higher than 25 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
