DESCRIPTION
Soranamo belongs to the class of cancer therapy known as multikinase inhibitors containing the active ingredient sorafenib. Soranamo is a therapy primarily used in the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer), hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), and thyroid cancer.
Soranamo works by inhibiting multiple protein kinases involved in tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors). Specifically, it targets receptors for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and Raf kinases, which play key roles in cancer development and progression. This stops the growth and spread of the tumor cells to other organs, as well the formation of blood vessels in the tumor cells.
