DESCRIPTION
Ketilept is an antipsychotic (neuroleptic) containing Quetiapine as an active substance. It has a higher affinity for serotonin 5-HT2-receptor than for the dopamine D1- and D2-receptors in the brain. It also exhibits a high affinity for histamine and beta 1-adrenoceptors and lower for beta 2-adrenoceptors. Ketilept selectively reduce the activity A10 mesolimbic dopaminergic neurons compared to A9 nigrostriatal neurons involved in motor function. Antipsychotic effects of Ketilept is achieved by blocking dopamine D2-receptors and as a result reducing dopaminergic neurotransmission in the mesolimbic pathway. INSTRUCTIONS & DOSAGE
Active substance: quetiapine 25, 100, 200 and 300 mg.
Excipients: cellulose microcrystalline, lactose monohydrate, sodium carboxymethyl starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, triacetin, macrogol, lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide, hypromellose

Ketilept should be taken orally with or without food.
Adults: the total daily dose for the first 4 days of therapy is 50mg (day 1), 100mg (day 2), 200mg (day 3) and 300mg (day 4). From the 4th day, the usual effective daily dose is 300mg. Depending on the clinical effect and tolerability in each patient, the dose may be ranged from 150mg to 750mg/day.
Children and adolescent: safety and efficacy of Ketilept has not been established.
Patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency: recommended starting dose is 25mg/day and then to increase the dose every 25-50mg to achieve an effective dose.
