This is an OTC supplement that is produced in two forms - synthetic and natural when it is taken from the glands of animals. Melatonin production can be damaged in a person. PACKAGING & DOSAGE
The supplement is for oral intake and comes in 3 mg tablets. A pack contains 20 or 60 tablets. In case of sleep disorder, 3 mg tablet should be taken once a day about 40 minutes before going to bedtime.
When the person takes the supplement after changing time zones, it is recommended to take 1 tablet a day before the flight and 3 mg tablets 30-40 minutes before bedtime. Elderly people may need more time to fall asleep they may take the medication 60-90 minutes before bedtime.
The dose shouldn’t exceed 6 mg a day. The medication is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
