HYDROCORTISONE - ointment contains a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are not the same as anabolic steroids. Hydrocortisone creams are used on the skin to treat swelling, itching and irritation.

DESCRIPTION
Hydrocortisone ointment is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., insect bites, poison oak/ivy, eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash, itching of the outer female genitals, anal itching). Hydrocortisone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. 1% Hydrocortisone ointment is a mild corticosteroid.

PACKAGING
HYDROCORTISONE comes in the form of ointment for topical use: 1% concentrate, 10 gramms.

Active ingredient per 1 gramm of ointment:
Hydrocortisone acetate - 10.0 mg

Excipients per 1 gramm of ointment:
Petrolatum, lanolin, pentaerythritol dioleate (pentol), stearic acid 95, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.

DOSAGE
Locally. The affected surface of the skin is lubricated with a thin layer of ointment no more than 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment is 1-3 weeks. The dose of the drug used during the week should not exceed 30-60 g. In case of itching in the anus, before applying the drug, wash the affected area with warm water and soap, then with water and dry the surface of the skin with a towel or napkin. For weeping skin diseases, lesions of the scalp, lotion and emulsion for external use are used.

PRECAUTIONS
Avoid contact with ointment in the eyes. For children under 12 years of age, the drug is prescribed only under strict medical supervision. If, after 7 days of use, there is no improvement or deterioration is observed, as well as in the case of the resumption of symptoms a few days after withdrawal, the use of the drug should be discontinued and you should consult a doctor. You should not use the drug without consulting a doctor in cases where itching in the genital area of ​​women is accompanied by vaginal discharge. With prolonged treatment and/or application to large surfaces, it is recommended to prescribe a diet with a sodium restriction and a high K+ content; intake a sufficient amount of protein into the body.

SIDE EFFECTS
Skin irritation; with prolonged use (especially with occlusive dressings and / or application to large surfaces) - systemic side effects.

STORAGE
Store in dry place at room temperature. Do not exceed storage temperature higher than 25 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
