DESCRIPTION
The active ingredient estradiol is the main form of oestrogen in the female body during the maturation and maintenance of the reproductive system. During menopause, the ovaries cease to produce the primary form of oestrogen- Oestrodiol. Therefore applying oestrodiol gel topically works to replace this hormone loss and treat the consequent discomfort affecting the quality of daily life. The gel is absorbed into the skin and into the bloodstream to carry out its functions.
Estradiol is the major estrogenic hormone secreted by the ovaries. The gel mimics natural ovarian estrogen, compensating for declining hormone levels and relieving symptoms of menopause.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE

Excipients: Water, ethanol, carbomer (a thickener), triethanolamine (to adjust pH), propylene glycol (solvent).
Dosage:
The starting dosage of Estofert TG (Estradiol) gel is two pumps twice a day for a month. Two pumps contains 1.5mg of oestrodiol which is sufficient for most women in providing effective relief of symptoms. If symptoms still persist after 1 month of usage, then the dosage may be increased to 4 pumps daily. It is important to note that the gel should be applied everyday at the same time.
SIDE EFFECTS AND PRECAUTIONS
- Headache, nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps or bloating, breast tenderness or pain.
- Smoking increases the risk of cardiovascular side effects.
- Regular monitoring (breast, pelvic exams, and blood pressure) is needed during therapy.
