DESCRIPTION
Calcium Chloride is a sterile injectable solution used to correct calcium deficiencies in the body. It is commonly administered intravenously (IV) in medical emergencies such as hypocalcemia, cardiac resuscitation, and electrolyte imbalances. Calcium plays a critical role in nerve function, muscle contraction, blood clotting, and bone health.

Calcium chloride is used as an intravenous therapy to prevent hypocalcemia. Calcium chloride is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula CaClâ‚‚. It is highly soluble in water. Calcium chloride is available as an injectable solution for intravenous (IV) administration, typically in concentrations like 100 mg/mL. It is used to rapidly increase calcium levels in the blood, particularly in emergency situations.

Benefits:

  • Treats hypocalcemia (low blood calcium levels). It helps restore calcium levels in cases of acute deficiency, which is essential for nerve function, muscle contraction, and bone strength.
  • Cardiac support in emergency situations. It helps improve cardiac contractility and stabilize heart function.
  • Treatment for hyperkalemia & hypermagnesemia. It helps protect the heart by counteracting the effects of high potassium (hyperkalemia) or high magnesium (hypermagnesemia), both of which can cause life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • It supports bone health & neuromuscular function. Calcium is crucial for maintaining strong bones and proper muscle and nerve function.
