Description

Description

UNITHIOL (DMPS, Dimercaprol) - has been used in the management of acute and chronic poisoning with a number of different metals and metalloids, and is particularly useful for arsenic, bismuth and mercury. Unithiol can be given parenterally or orally depending on the clinical situation and severity of poisoning. It is well tolerated and adverse effects are relatively  rare. Most  common adverse effects are skin reactions such as rashes, pruritis and blistering which are allergic in origin. Most resolve within a few days and generally no treatment is required.

USES

  • Has a detoxicating effect.
  • Antidote in case of intoxications by arsenic and heavy metals salts.
  • Peripheral nervous system state improvement.
  • Capillaries permeability normalization.

GUARANTEE & EXPIRY DATE
Original from the Russian Ferrein Pharmaceutical Company. All packs are air tight sealed and expire up to 10.2029.

DESCRIPTION
Due to the presence of sulfhydryl groups, dimercaprol forms water-soluble non-toxic complexes with blockers of thiol groups of enzymes (thiol poisons in blood and tissues, decay products of ethanol), accelerating their elimination from the body. Strong binding to the blockers of sulfhydryl groups and the rapid elimination of the resulting complexes prevents the binding of the thiol groups of enzymes, helps to restore their activity and leads to a reduction and complete elimination of the symptoms of poisoning. Increases the elimination of certain cations (especially copper and zinc) from metal-containing cell enzymes. In patients with diabetic polyneuropathy, it helps to reduce pain, improve the function of the peripheral nervous system, and normalize capillary permeability.

PACKAGING
Unithiol comes in the form of ampuls for injection, 10 ampuls per pack.
Active ingredient: Unithiol 50mg/ml, 5ml/ampul.
Excipients: Water for injection.

DOSAGE

Unithiol

UNITHIOL (DMPS, Dimercaprol) 50 mg Ampoules from RuPharm UNITHIOL is a pharmaceutical preparation that contains DMPS (2,3-Dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid) and sometimes Dimercaprol, both of which are potent chelating agents. These compounds are used primarily to treat heavy metal poisoning by binding toxic metals in the body and facilitating their excretion. The product you have acquired from RuPharm comes in 50 mg doses within 5 ml ampoules, with a total of 10 ampoules in the package. Main Uses and Mechanism Heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, and lead can accumulate in the body and cause serious health problems. UNITHIOL’s active ingredients, DMPS and Dimercaprol, attach to these metals through chemical bonds, neutralizing their toxicity and allowing the body to eliminate them through the kidneys. This process is called chelation therapy. The medication is typically administered by injection or intravenously under medical supervision. Pharmaceutical Form and Dosage The 50 mg concentration in 5 ml ampoules is designed for precise dosing, making it suitable for controlled medical use. The ampoules ensure the medication remains sterile and effective until use. The dosage and frequency depend heavily on the severity of poisoning, the specific metal involved, and the patient’s overall health status, thus requiring professional medical guidance. Important Considerations UNITHIOL should only be used under strict medical supervision because inappropriate use can cause side effects, including allergic reactions, kidney stress, or shifts in essential mineral balance. It is vital to follow all storage instructions to maintain the drug’s efficacy. Patients undergoing chelation therapy often require monitoring of metal levels and kidney function to ensure safe and effective treatment. Conclusion UNITHIOL (DMPS, Dimercaprol) ampoules from RuPharm represent a critical tool in managing heavy metal toxicity. Their precise formulation and delivery system allow for targeted treatment, but medical oversight is essential to optimize outcomes and minimize risks. As heavy metal exposure remains a significant health concern worldwide, therapies like UNITHIOL play a crucial role in detoxification and recovery.

DMPS

Great customer service, arrived with no problems, far more effective than DMSA for organic mercury, improving gastrointestinal issues and energy levels.
