DESCRIPTION
Tolifast is a muscle relaxant that helps calm tight, painful muscles without making you too sleepy. It is used for muscle spasms or stiffness from back pain, neck pain, injuries, or nerve problems like sciatica or multiple sclerosis. It eases pain and helps you move better. Tolperisone blocks signals in the brain and spine that cause muscles to tighten up. It gets into your blood quickly after eating, works for hours, and leaves your body through urine.
Tolifast blocks voltage-gated sodium and calcium channels in the brainstem's reticular formation and spinal cord, inhibiting nociceptive input, spinal reflexes, and reticulo-spinal projections. It absorbs fully from the gut, peaks in plasma after 1.5 hours, metabolizes in liver and kidneys, and excretes renally with half-lives of 2 and 12 hours.
