DESCRIPTION
The main scheme of action is to form a different drinking pattern delivering side effects that occur as a result of alcohol use. The unpleasant conditions include rash, nausea, headache, choking, problems with breathing, weakness, anxiety, sweating. The patient has blurred vision, pain the chest, and mental confusion. The negative effects begin 10 minutes after the alcohol is taken and continue for an hour. The work of active substances in the drug changes the oxidation of alcohol thus causing a reaction that manifests itself in intolerance of alcohol. The treatment can continue for several months or even years.
Though the effects of the medication were previously tested, it’s not recommended to test the effects of the medication, especially in patients over 50 years old. In case the test reaction is still necessary, the person shouldn’t consume more than 30 ml of whiskey. PACKAGE & DOSAGE
The main active ingredient is Disulfiram. The medication comes in 150 mg tablets. It is recommended to take it as prescribed by the doctor. It is advised to take blood tests in the course of treatment to make sure the liver functions properly. Some medical compounds can strengthen the dose and cause negative effects. It shouldn’t also be taken with antidepressants, metronidazole and ascorbic acid.
It is better to start treatment after the person abstains 12 hours from alcohol. The average dose varies from 125 to 250 mg. The maximum dose should not surpass 500 mg a day.
