SULFACYL SODIUM are eye drops that are used to fight eye bacteria. It penetrates into the tissues of the eye, where it has its specific antibacterial effect. Sulfacyl Sodium is often applied in ophthalmology as well as it is an effective antibacterial remedy with a broad-spectrum action. The eye drops are used for purulent corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, gonorrheal eye diseases in newborns and adults and to prevent blennorrhea in newborns.

DESCRIPTION
When applied topically Sulfacyl Sodium penetrates the tissues and fluids of the eye. The preparation is absorbed into the systemic circulation through the inflamed conjunctiva. Active against gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium perfringers, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Yersinia pestis, Chlamydia spp., Actinomyces israelii, Toxopii.
Development of resistance to sulfacetamide is possible.
PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Comes in eye drops that are clear and colorless. The active ingredient is sulfacetamide. The inactive ingredients include sodium thiosulfate, hydrochloric acid solution and purified water.
Use 2-3 drops in the lower conjunctival sac of each eye 5-6 times per day. If you apply it as eye drops, it’s necessary to wash the hands before use. Do not touch the dropper. Don’t wear contact lenses when you use the medication. Place a finger at the corner of the eye after you used the drops with eye closed for a minute or two not to let the medicine drain out. Don’t blink or rub the eye.
It can take some time to restore the vision after use of the eye drops. Do not drive a car or use equipment that requires precision. The vision can be blurry after the use of the drug. The treatment course continues for 7-10 days. If Sulfacyl Sodium is used as a part of therapy with another medication then wait 10-15 minutes before you apply other eye drops.
