Russian government has allocated 2.6 billions rubles to renovate the Human Brain Institute based in St. Petersburg

The Russian government, led by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, has allocated 2.587 billion rubles for the reconstruction of the Human Brain Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The corresponding resolution of the Cabinet is published on the official portal of legal information.

The institute complex is located in St. Petersburg. Work is scheduled to begin in 2020. Funds were allocated for the reconstruction of a building with an area of about 8 thousand square meters on the street of Academician Pavlov in the Petrograd district of the city. According to the decree, the repaired object must be commissioned in 2022.

Institute of the Human Brain (named N.P. Bekhtereva) is a scientific and practical center. The main activities of the institute are research on the organization of the human brain and its complex mental functions - thinking, speech, emotions, attention, memory, creativity. The institute conducts psychophysiological studies on volunteers using non-invasive techniques.
