Description
MONTLEZIR is a combination therapy containing two active ingredients: Levocetirizine dihydrochloride (5 mg) and montelukast sodium (10 mg). It is primarily used to treat symptoms of both perennial (persistent) and seasonal (intermittent) allergic rhinitis.

- Levocetirizine dihydrochloride is a second-generation antihistamine that belongs to the piperazine derivative class. It is the active enantiomer of cetirizine and is used to treat various allergic conditions by blocking the H1 histamine receptors, reducing allergic symptoms.
- Montelukast sodium is a leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) used to manage and prevent asthma and allergic conditions. It works by blocking leukotrienes, inflammatory chemicals in the body that cause airway constriction, mucus production, and inflammation.
The tablets are film-coated, typically yellow or brownish-yellow, with two layers—one white to off-white and the other light yellow.
SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects may include headache, drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth, and abdominal pain. Less commonly, patients might experience dizziness, nausea, or hypersensitivity reactions.
