DOXAZOSIN (Alpha-blocker, Cardura, Carduran) is a drug used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and urinary retention due to an enlarged prostate. It is also used to prevent and treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland.

DESCRIPTION
High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. High blood pressure may also increase the risk of heart attacks. These problems may be less likely to occur if blood pressure is controlled.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Doxazosin comes in the form of tablets for oral administration.
Active ingredient: doxazosin mesylate, in terms of doxazosin - 2 or 4 mg.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate (milk sugar) -71.07 mg, microcrystalline cellulose - 20.00 mg, sodium carboxymethyl starch - 3.00 mg, povidone-K25 - 2.40 mg, magnesium stearate - 1.00 mg, sodium lauryl sulfate - 0 .10 mg.

Dosage: Doxazosin can be administered both in the morning and in the evening, and is intended for oral administration. It is taken once a day, regardless of the meal. The tablet must be swallowed without chewing, drinking plenty of water.
The recommended starting dose of Doxazosin is 1 mg once daily to minimize the possibility of orthostatic hypotension and/or syncope. Depending on the individual characteristics of urodynamic parameters and the presence of symptoms of BPH, the dose can be increased to 2 mg, and then to 4 mg and up to a maximum daily dose of 8 mg. The recommended interval for increasing the dose is 1-2 weeks. The usual recommended maintenance dose is 2-4 mg once daily.

STORAGE
Store in dry place at room temperature. Do not exceed storage temperature higher than 25 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
