DESCRIPTION
Cerecard is an antioxidant and belongs to 3-oxipiridon group. As a free-radical inhibitor, has membrane-protective properties, as well as antihypoxic, antistress nootropic, antiepileptic and anxiolytic effects. Cerecard inhibits lipid peroxidation, improves the structure and functions of cell membrane. Increases the level of dopamine in the brain. It is effective in treating myocardial ischemia, reducing necrotic tissue, restoring and improving electrical activity and myocardium contraction.

INSTRUCTIONS & DOSAGE
Active substance: ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate 50mg

Cerecard is administered as intramuscular, intravenous injections(5-7 minutes) or intravenous drip (60 drips/min). Initial dose is 800mg/day.

Acute cerebrovascular accident : IV 200-300mg/day for the first 2-4 days, after then - IM 100mg 3 times/day.

Discirculatory encephalopathy(in the phase of decompensation): IV 100mg 2-3 times/day for 14 days, after then - IM 100mg/day for the next 14 days.

Neurocirculatory dystonia and neurosis and neurotic states: IM 50-400mg/day for 14 days.

Withdrawal symptoms of alcoholism: IM 100-200mg 2-3 times/day for 5-7 days.

Mild cognitive disorders: IM 100-300mg/day for 14-30 days.

Acute myocardial infarction: IV infusion for 30-90 minutes during the first 5 days after stroke (sodium chloride solution, 0.9%, 100/150ml). For the next 9 days the drug is given intramuscularly 3 times/day (in every 8 hours). Daily dose is 6-9mg/kg/day, single dose is 2-3mg/kg. Maximum dose is 800mg/day, maximum single dose is 250mg.
