DESCRIPTION

Bicalutamide is a synthetic, non-steroidal anti-androgen that binds to androgen receptors, preventing androgens like testosterone from stimulating the growth of prostate cancer cells. This mechanism helps slow or halt the progression of the disease. The medication is typically administered orally in tablet form, with a standard dosage of 50 mg daily. In some countries, higher doses (e.g., 150 mg daily) are used for specific indications, but such regimens are not universally approved.
