This includes middle ear infections, strep throat, pneumonia, traveler's diarrhea, and certain other intestinal infections. It can also be used for a number of sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia and gonorrhea infections. Along with other medications, it may also be used for malaria.

DESCRIPTION
Azithromycin was discovered 1980 by Pliva and approved for medical use in 1988. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system. The World Health Organization classifies it as critically important for human medicine.
PACKAGING
AZITHROMYCIN comes in the form of capsules for oral use: 250-500 mg per capsule, 3-6 capsules per pack.
Active ingredient:
Azithromycin - 250-500 mg.
Excipients:
Mannitol (mannitol) - 54.58 mg, corn starch - 13.10 mg, magnesium stearate - 2.0 mg, sodium lauryl sulfate - 0.32 mg.
Hard gelatin capsule composition:
Titanium dioxide (E 171), gelatin (medical gelatin).
DOSAGE
Orally, 1 hour before or 2 hours after food, with water, without chewing.
Adults (including the elderly) and children over 12 years old with a body weight of over 45 kg.
For infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, ENT organs, skin and soft tissues: 500 mg (2 capsules) once a day for 3 days (course dose of 1.5 g).
In the initial stage of Lyme disease (borreliosis) - erythema migrans (erythema migrans): 1 time per day for 5 days: 1st day - 1.0 g (4 capsules), then from 2nd to 5th day - 500 mg (2 capsules) (course dose - 3.0 g).
When acne is indicated, ordinary (acne) of moderate severity on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of treatment, take 500 mg (1 capsule) once a day, then take a break from the fourth to the seventh day, from the eighth day of treatment, take 500 mg (1 capsule) once a week for 9 weeks (course dose - 6 g).
In case of urinary tract infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis (urethritis, cervicitis) Uncomplicated urethritis / cervicitis - 1 g once.
PRECAUTIONS
SIDE EFFECTS
Stomach upset, diarrhea/loose stools, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Get medical help right away if any of these rare but serious side effects occur: fast/irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, fainting.
