DESCRIPTION
Asthalin is a brand of salbutamol sulfate delivered via an inhaler that produces a fine aerosol. Each actuation delivers 100 micrograms (mcg) of salbutamol (as salbutamol sulfate) into the lungs.
The inhaler is designed for oral inhalation(breathed in through the mouth); it must not be swallowed or injected. It typically contains enough doses for at least 200 actuations, depending on the specific pack.

Salbutamol works like a quick “unlock” signal for tight airways: it tells the muscles squeezing your breathing tubes to let go, so the tubes open up and air can flow freely again.
Your breathing tubes (airways) are wrapped in a ring of smooth muscle. When you have asthma or COPD, that muscle can tighten and squeeze the tubes, making it hard to breathe.
Salbutamol is a tiny key that fits into special locks on those muscle cells called β₂ receptors.

When salbutamol turns those locks, it starts a chain reaction inside the cell that raises a chemical messenger called cAMP.
More cAMP tells the muscle to relax (by lowering calcium inside the cell), so the squeezing stops and the airway widens.

Benefits:
  • Rapid relief of acute breathlessness, wheeze, and chest tightness.
  • Improved airflow and reduced airway resistance during bronchospasm.
  • Effective pre‑treatment before exercise or known allergen exposure in susceptible individuals.
  • Widely available and well‑studied as a first‑line rescue medication in asthma and COPD.
