Triazavirin (Riamilovir) belongs to the class of nucleoside analogs and is structurally related to ribavirin. Triazavirin is designed to inhibit viral RNA synthesis, making it effective against a range of RNA viruses. The active substance of Triazavirin is Riamilovir, a synthetic analogue of purine nucleoside bases (guanine) with a pronounced antiviral effect. The main mechanism of action of Riamilovir is the inhibition of the synthesis of viral RNA and the replication of genomic fragments. It has a broad spectrum of antiviral activity against RNA-containing viruses.

 

Triazavirin (Riamilovir) was originally developed as a potential treatment for pandemic influenza strains such as H5N1, and most of the testing that has been done has focused on its anti-influenza activity. Triazavirin has also been found to have antiviral activity against a number of other viruses including tick-borne encephalitis virus and is also being investigated for potential application against a lethal influenza infection and secondary bacterial pneumonia following influenza, Lassa fever and Ebola virus disease. For influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections in adult patients

Recommended dose: 1 capsule (250 mg) 3 times a day for 5 consecutive days.

3 capsules (750 mg). Triazavirin should be taken no later than the 2nd day from the onset of the disease (manifestation of clinical symptoms of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections).

Recommended dosage: 1 capsule (250 mg) once a day for 10 days.
