DESCRIPTION
Rastan contains somatropin - recombinant form of endogenous growth hormone. It has the same mechanism of action as the natural hormone. It binds to receptors of target cells, which activates the MAPK/ERK pathway, thus increasing the division and multiplication of chondrocytes of cartilage. It stimulates the IGF-1 production by activating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway in the liver. IGF-1 has growth-promoting effects on almost every cell in the body, especially skeletal muscle, cartilage, bone, liver, kidney, nerves, skin, hematopoietic cell, and lungs; induces cellular DNA synthesis.
PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Rastan comes if the form of lyophilized powder for injections. 1ml contains the active substance somatropin - 4IU (1,33mg).
Excipients: Sodium chloride, sodium citrate dihydrate, phenol, polysorbate 20, citric acid, water for injections.
The dose has to be adjusted individually.
For subcutaneous injection 1 time per day before sleep.
Pediatric patients:
Growth hormone deficiency 0,07-0,1IU/kg/day.
Turner syndrome: up to 50mcg/kg/day.
Adults:
Growth hormone failure: initial dose is 0,15-0,3mg/day.
