DESCRIPTION
Papaverine is a direct-acting smooth muscle relaxant and vasodilator primarily used to treat spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, bile ducts, and ureter, as well as vasospasms associated with cerebrovascular and coronary artery conditions. It works by relaxing blood vessels and smooth muscles, improving blood flow and relieving spasms.
Papaverine is classified as a vasodilator and smooth muscle relaxant. It works by relaxing the smooth muscles in blood vessels and other organs, causing blood vessels to widen (vasodilation) and improving blood flow. It is primarily used to treat spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, bile ducts, urinary tract, and to relieve cerebral and coronary vasospasms.
Papaverine is also used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) through intracavernosal injection.
