DESCRIPTION
The active ingredient in Omeprazole inhibits gastric acid secretion. The antisecretory effect of the drug occurs within the first hour after taking the 20 mg dose. The inhibition of maximal secretion is 50 % and lasts for 24 hours. A once-a-day dose results in fast and effective inhibition of 24 hour gastric acid secretion, reaching its maximum effect within 4 days of treatment. Omeprazole controls intragastric pH and maintains its level above 3 in patients with duodenal ulcer during 17 hours.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Single oral dose 20-40 mg.
Daily dose: 20-80 mg.
Frequency: 1-2 times a day.
Period of intake: 2-8 weeks.

Omeprazole comes as a delayed-release opaque, hard gelatin capsules and granules or suspension in a form of a fine yellow powder. Omeprazole delayed-release capsules, 10 mg.
