DESCRIPTION
Mebentel is a brand name for Mebendazole, It treats common worm infections in the gut, like pinworms, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. It works by stopping the worms from getting the energy they need from sugar in your food, so they weaken, stop moving, and die over a few days. Your body then passes the dead worms out in stool, usually without you noticing.
Mebendazole sticks to parts inside the worm cells that help them build tubes for moving food and nutrients around, like blocking their food highway. Without these tubes, worms can't absorb glucose (a type of sugar) or make eggs, leading to their slow death in the intestines. It stays mostly in the gut and doesn't spread much into the blood, which keeps side effects low for short treatments.
