HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, is a natural hormone your body makes during early pregnancy to help the baby grow safely inside. It acts like a signal that tells your ovaries to keep producing progesterone, which thickens the uterus lining and stops your period so the pregnancy can continue. In men, it is used to treat low testosterone (hypogonadism) and related fertility issues by mimicking luteinizing hormone to stimulate the testes.
Preserves fertility during testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
For woman it triggers ovulation in IVF, IUI, or anovulatory infertility.

DESCRIPTION
Think of HCG as a helper hormone made by the placenta cells right after the egg implants. It keeps a temporary gland in the ovary (called the corpus luteum) alive to make pregnancy hormones. Levels rise fast in the first weeks of pregnancy, then drop as the placenta takes over fully around 10 weeks.
Pregnancy tests detect HCG in urine or blood to confirm if you're pregnant.
HCG mimics LH to stimulate the testes, raising natural testosterone without spiking the testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) ratio that doping tests catch easily.
Bodybuilders/athletes often take it during or after steroid cycles to restart their own hormone production, prevent testicular shrinkage, and maintain libido or energy for training. HCG boosts testosterone production in men by acting like luteinizing hormone (LH), a natural signal from the brain that tells the testes to make more of it. When injected, HCG binds to the same receptors on Leydig cells in the testes, kicking off the process that ramps up testosterone and also supports sperm production.
HCG injections come as a powder vial that you mix with a solvent like sterile water or bacteriostatic water before use. Wash hands thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds; clean a flat surface with alcohol. Wipe tops of HCG vial and solvent ampoule with alcohol; let dry. Draw 1-5 ml solvent (check vial strength, e.g., 2ml for 5000 iu) into mixing syringe; slowly inject into HCG vial along the side—do not shake, gently roll or swirl until clear.
Draw desired dose (e.g., 500-2500 iu) into insulin syringe; tap out air bubbles and expel excess. Let sit 15 minutes if cold to reach room temperature.
Female infertility/IVF trigger: single dose around 5000–10,000 iu IM/SC given 24–36 hours before egg retrieval or timed intercourse/IUI, after adequate follicular development with FSH.
Bodybuilders and athletes often follow post-cycle therapy (PCT) protocols: 1500-2500 iu every other day for 2 weeks, sometimes starting at 5000 iu single dose to "jumpstart" testes. Lower maintenance: 500-1000 iu 2-3 times weekly during steroid use to prevent shrinkage.
