DESCRIPTION
Galazolin contains xylometazoline, an imidazole derivative with sympathomimetic activity. It acts as a topical vasoconstrictor when applied to the nasal mucosa, directly stimulating α-adrenergic receptors. This leads to constriction of blood vessels, reducing swelling and congestion in the nasal passages. It is available in various forms (drops and gel) and concentrations for both adults and children.
The active ingredient in Galazolin is xylometazoline, an imidazoline derivative with sympathomimetic properties. Xylometazoline acts as a direct agonist of alpha-adrenergic receptors (mainly α1 and α2), causing constriction of the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa. This vasoconstriction reduces swelling (edema), hyperemia, and exudation in the nasal passages, leading to rapid relief of congestion and easier breathing
- Rapid relief of nasal congestion.
- Improves nasal airflow and drainage.
- Facilitates diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the nasal cavity.
