It is recommended as one of a number of first-line medications for the treatment of neuropathic pain caused by diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and central neuropathic pain.

DESCRIPTION
Gabapentin can be taken as monotherapy when partial seizures are treated. Alternatively, it is prescribed as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures with either secondary generalization or without.
