EPOCRIN (Epoetin Alpha) helps your body make more red blood cells. It contains a hormone called erythropoietin (EPO), which your kidneys normally produce to tell your bone marrow to create red blood cells. These red blood cells carry oxygen all around your body to keep you healthy and full of energy.

USES

  • Treat anemia of various origin.
  • Stimulate erythrocytes production (erythropoiesis).
  • Increase hemoglobin and hematocrit levels.
  • Improve red blood cell supply.

DESCRIPTION
Epocrin contains erythropoietin (EPO), a natural hormone mainly made by your kidneys that tells your bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen from your lungs to every part of your body, keeping your tissues healthy and full of energy. When your body senses low oxygen levels—like in anemia or low red blood cell count—your kidneys release more erythropoietin to boost red cell production.

Epocrin works by attaching to specific receptors (EPO receptors) on immature red blood cell precursors in the bone marrow. This binding activates a chain of signals inside these cells, helping them survive, multiply, and mature into healthy red blood cells. This process gradually increases the number of oxygen-carrying cells in your bloodstream.

Besides making red blood cells, erythropoietin also plays a role in protecting certain tissues by reducing inflammation and preventing cell death. It affects immune cells and helps repair damaged tissues beyond the bone marrow, showing benefits in wound healing and possibly protecting organs like the brain and heart.
