DESCRIPTION
Epocrin includes the active substance - Epoetin alfa - which is a synthetic analog of human erythropoietin and has the same biological activity as the endogenous hormone. It is produced in cell culture using recombinant DNA technology. Epocrin stimulates the division and differentiation of committed erythroid progenitor cells by binding to the erythropoietin receptor, which activates JAK-STAT signaling pathways within the cytosol. It induces the bone marrow to release reticulocytes into the blood stream, where they mature to erythrocytes.
